Cyber-Physical Systems and Security Laboratory (CyPhy Lab) was established in 2018 and led by Jun Han, an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the School of Computing, KAIST. At CyPhy Lab, we propose Physics-guided Computing, a novel computing paradigm that is at the intersection of computer security and sensing/mobile systems and focuses on utilizing physical context for solving security problems in the Internet-of-Things and Cyber-Physical Systems. Specifically, we study a variety of topics including but not limited to (1) Physics-guided Sensing Augmentation, (2) Side-Channel Attacks, and (3) Secure Authentication. At CyPhy Lab, we publish at top-tier conferences across various research communities spanning computer security, mobile computing, and sensing systems (including IEEE S&P, USENIX Security, ACM CCS, MobiSys, MobiCom, SenSys, Ubicomp, IPSN). Based on our research performance, Ph.D. students at CyPhy Lab enjoy global fellowship opportunities (including Google Ph.D. Fellowship) and international collaboration. Currently, our lab consists of members from both the School of Computing at KAIST as well as the School of Computing at the National University of Singapore.
